The junction of Broad Street, East Street and West Street in 1949.
Although taken four years after the end of the second world war there is still a poster displayed in the upper window of Barclays Bank appealing for volunteers to join the Women’s Land Army. During this period of post war food shortages at home and in Europe this organisation was still operational and would finally be disbanded a year later in 1950.
This building has recently been refurbished and is now a coffee shop (Coffee #1) [2019]
