The boat badge of HMS 'Alresford' 1919. An official design approved in December 1926. The field is chequered gold and black. On a white square in the centre, a black lion rampant. The badge is a diamond shape with a gold rope twist border representing an auxiliary. It is made of cast brass, painted and drilled at the corners. 'ALRESFORD' is inscribed on the reverse. Based on the arms of the town of the same name in Hampshire.
