The offices of Gush & Dent Ltd, 1960’s. Built in the grounds of Ferndale House (Previously named St. Joans). This building in Jacklyns Lane would later be demolished to be replaced by a larger office building “First Options”. Previous to the building of the Gush & Dent office the land alongside of Jacklyns Lane contained a large, long, aviary of brightly coloured birds that were of great interest to passers-by. Especially the local school children who would spend hours teaching the resident mynah bird to speak naughty words!
