In the early 1950’s George Wigmore the local barber stands in front of his shop in Broad Street where he also sold newspapers and cigarettes. Mr Wigmore would regularly open his shop on a Sunday morning to enable local men to purchase a Sunday newspaper and have a shave or haircut before attending service at the church
