2020 Remembrance

2020. With Remembrance Sunday and Remembrance Day occuring during the middle of the pandemic lockdown, the government advised, that to protect the public, all annual ceremonies and parades should be severly restricted. To comply with this advice the parish church of St John’s held a very short service, with no public participation, to allow for laying of wreaths at the town war memorial. The British Legion did, however, encouraged people to display a poppy at their homes and local children to decorate walls and pavements.
