Perin’s School Sports Day 1907. The girl pupils dressed in their ‘Holland style’ dresses, wide red sash, red tie, straw hats. The boy pupils dressed in dark blazers, white slacks, ties and straw boaters. About a fifth of the school were boarders and 30 of these were girls.

When Perin’s was built on the Pound Hill site the old school at the Dean crossroads was made into a hostel for the girl boarders. The boys boarded a little way up Pound Hill in the large building at No 20.
