On the left is Avenue Tea Rooms in Pound Hill about 1960. The building has since been converted into a private residence and the row of old terrace cottages on the right of the tea rooms have since been demolished and replaced with a terrace of modern town houses. The hanging sign on the building and the ‘A’ frame next to the road indicate the tea rooms welcomed cyclists and was recognised by the Cyclists Touring Club (CTC).
