A copy of a letter, dated 3rd May 1976, from the County Surveyor of Hampshire County Council to Mr A H White Clerk of
New Alresford Parish Council. The letter reads:
ROAD FROM ALRESFORD FULLING MILL TO THE DEAN.
Further to my previous correspondence I now confirm that the above road is an ancient highway.
